The fish fry fundraiser sponsored by the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Reserve officers was called a big success Monday morning. Aaron Knisley, head of 911 communications and chairman for the event, reported to county commissioners that over $5,000 was raised.
The annual fundraiser is used to provide uniforms for the reserve sheriff’s department officers and care and food for the county-owned police dogs. An estimated 768 people reportedly enjoyed the meal. Many door prizes were awarded, mostly going to local residents, according to Knisley.
“I am always impressed with the professionalism of our reserves,” said Commissioner President George Bachman. “When I see them in action, I can’t tell the difference between the reserves and the deputies.”
