Fight report leads to meth charges

Deputies from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department were called to a residence on CR 650E north of US 20 early Saturday morning for an out of control subject.

According to the police report, when officers arrived they made contact with a male subject, Caleb Kleinhardt, 20, of Bristol, who told officers that he had been asleep but was awakened by two females who he said were on top of him, beating him. Kleinhardt allegedly told officers he did not cause any problems and was trying to figure out why they were after him.

Officers spoke to the two female subjects, who claimed that Kleinhardt started an argument with them. The females also reportedly told officers that Kleinhardt’s grandfather attempted to separate them and that the grandfather was also attacked by Kleinhardt.

Officers did report that the grandfather had a cut to his right forearm.

Officers located a wallet with Kleinhardt’s identification, and reported that they found a small plastic bag in the wallet that contained a white, powdery substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Kleinhardt was taken to the LaGrange County Jail on a preliminary charge of Possession of Methamphetamine. Battery charges are pending further investigation.
