Farmers State Bank has announced the promotion of several employees recently.
Joe Urbanski has been promoted to executive vice president. He joined the bank in 2007 as the chief financial officer after nine years of public accounting experience. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University South Bend (IUSB). He is currently on the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation (EDC) Board.
Kerry Sprunger has been promoted to executive vice president. He has 35 years of banking experience. He joined the Farmers State Bank in 1996 and has served as chief lending officer since 2002. Sprunger has extensive experience in commercial and agriculture lending and branch administration. He graduated from the Barret School of Banking in Memphis, Tenn., in 2006 and currently serves as president of the LaGrange County Convention and Visitors Bureau, serves on the revolving loan committee of the LaGrange County EDC, and is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce.
Lori White has been promoted to executive vice president. She has been with the bank 32 years and is the bank’s chief operations officer. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in business management from Indiana Wesleyan University and an Associate’s degree in business from Tri-State University. She attended the BAI Graduate School of Bank Operations and Technology. She has previously served as operations manager, special services officer and compliance officer. She has served on the United Fund Board and now serves on LaGrange County Chamber of Commerce Board.
Renea Boots has been promoted to senior vice president. She has been with the bank 12 years and is the bank’s manager of human resources, facilities and marketing. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from University of Indianapolis and also attended the Graduate School of Banking for Human Resources. She is a 10-year board member with LaGrange County 4-H Association.
Mark Cowen has been promoted to first vice president. He has been with the bank one year and is the bank’s vice president of sales and service. He earned a degree in marketing and mid-management from Ball State University and attended the IBA Graduate School of Banking. He is an executive board member of the YMCA of Steuben County, is involved with Angola Area Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Angola Rotary.
Jessica Brodock has been promoted to assistant vice president, banking officer and branch manager of the Fremont office. She has been with the bank 10 years and was formally a teller, trust operations administrator and assistant branch manager. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Tri-State University. She is involved in Junior Achievement, is the board secretary for Steuben County Literacy Coalition and the co-chair for the Steuben County Alphabet Affair Committee.
Nichole Marple has been promoted to marketing director. She has been with the bank for 21 years, previously working as a teller, a loan operations processor, and as the branch manager of the Fremont office. She has an Associate’s degree in business administration from Indiana University Ft. Wayne and attended the IBA’s Commercial Lending School and Branch Management Series. She most recently served as a board member of Community Anti-Violence Alliance and is active with Junior Achievement.
