Several area youth are headed to Europe this summer, thanks in part to a sponsorship from Farm Credit Mid-America. Farm Credit is an agricultural lending cooperative serving farmers, rural residents and agribusinesses throughout Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Marissa Lorenz, Alex Miller, Ryan Kelly and Sarah Kezar earned the trip with their third place finish in the North American International Livestock Judging Contest held during the North American International Livestock Exposition in November.
As part of the trip, the students will visit the Royal Highlands Show in Scotland as well as touring farms and agricultural businesses in England, Scotland, and Ireland.
“We’re very proud of these students for representing our community so well,” said Larry Dickinson, senior financial services officer in Farm Credit’s LaGrange office.
“This trip will help develop their global perspective on agriculture. Farm Credit is glad to support these 4-H members in their development as future leaders in agriculture.”
