Fairfield cemented its dominance of NECC volleyball Saturday at Westview by winning the league’s annual tournament.
The 30-1 Lady Falcons, who went 10-0 during the conference’s regular season, downed the host Lady Warriors, 25-16, 25-18 in the championship match. Ellen Line paced the Fairfield attack with nine kills, followed by Haley Brown with eight and Sierra Smith with seven. Riley Troyer collected 23 assists and Brown three aces.
Fairfield topped Eastside (25-9, 25-13), West Noble (25-7, 25-14) and Angola (25-9, 25-13) in pool play. Westview reached the final round thanks to pool victories over Central Noble (25-14, 25-13), Churubusco (25-16, 25-18) and Prairie Heights (21-25, 25-14, 15-12).
Kelsey Carmack produced 29 kills, eight aces and 23 digs on the day for the Lady Warriors, while Breann Bushong totaled 20 kills, seven aces and six blocks. Grace Hales collected 23 kills and three blocks, Carrie Chupp 71 assists and 13 digs, Candice Chupp 27 digs and Julia Wright three blocks.
Westview (21-10) meets host Central Noble this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the opening round of the 2A volleyball sectional.
