Prairie Heights gave Fairfield all it wanted for four quarters before falling to the Lady Falcons, 42-36 in NECC girls basketball play Saturday night in Brushy Prairie.
Trailing by eight points (32-24) heading into the final frame, the Lady Panthers rallied to cut the difference to three with just under a minute left. However, a big three-point play by Haley Brown sealed the Fairfield win.
Jenna Kieper fired in 17 points to lead the Lady Falcons, now 3-1 in the NECC standings.
Shawna Carbone had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Panthers, who were playing their third game without standout guard Tressa Terry, still bothered by an Achilles ailment. Senior leader Kayla Feeney also missed the tilt due to injury.
