Fairfield stayed perfect (4-0) in the NECC girls basketball standings with a 53-30 victory over Lakeland last Friday night in LaGrange.
The Lady Falcons, now 6-1 overall, led 13-5 after one period and 26-12 when the teams broke for halftime. An 11-8 run by the Lady Lakers lowered the difference to 11 (34-23), but Fairfield put the game away by out pointing the hosts, 19-7 in the final frame.
Haley Brown led a trio of Lady Falcons in double figures with 13 points. Brooke Mast followed with 12 markers and Jenna Kieper sank 10.
Brown also led the victors on the glass with 10 rebounds. Kieper added four assists to her stat line, while Mast topped the steals chart with four.
Abi Thompson collected 15 points and four rebounds to pace the Lady Lakers, who fell to 2-3 in the NECC and to 4-6 overall with the result. Ashtin Kaminer pitched in five points and five steals, Nicole McKibben five points and three assists, Carlee Richardson two points and four rebounds, Becca Levitz two points and two steals, and Mackenzie Loy two rebounds.
