Fairfield Girls cruise past Lakeland

Fairfield overcame a sluggish start to cruise past Lakeland, 43-12 in NECC girls basketball action last Friday night in LaGrange.

Ice-cold shooting by both squads had the score knotted at 4-all midway through the second quarter. The Lady Falcons then closed the half by going on a 12-0 run which earned the visitors a 16-4 halftime cushion.

Fairfield tallied 12 of the 14 markers in the third stanza to build a 28-6 lead.

Becca Kropf scored 11 points and Emily Beasley sank 10 to pace the Lady Falcons, who improved to 4-1 in the NECC and to 5-1 overall with the win.

Morgan Meyers came off the bench to score a team-best six points for the Lady Lakers. Ashtin Kaminer grabbed five rebounds and Lauren McKibben collected three steals and two assists.
