Esther K. Nelson-Hartman, 92, Goshen, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
She was born January 28, 1920, in LaGrange, to Enos and Lovina (Mehl) Mishler.
She retired from Ivers-Lee Corporation in Shipshewana after working there over 20 years and was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of Shore Mennonite Church where she was active in the sewing circle.
She was married August 19, 1939 to Dory M. Nelson. He preceded her in death on August 26, 1971. She was married August 30, 1986 to Freman Hartman. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2009.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy (Allen) Jackson, Elkhart; one son, David (Carole) Nelson, Eustis, Fla.; three grandsons, Rick Nelson, Todd Jackson and Trent Jackson; two great-granddaughters; two stepdaughters, Donna Oswalt, Elkhart, and Elaine Thorpe, Citrus Heights, Calif.; four stepsons, Charles Hartman, Howe, Floyd Hartman, Sturgis, Mich., Loren Hartman, Mishawaka, Ind., and Bert Hartman, Whites Creek, Tenn.; 16 stepgrandchildren; and 20 stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, Nina Baer, Marie Schrock, Ruth Ropp, Rachel Tyson, Ruby Pettet and Beulah Yoder, and three brothers, Truman, Clem and Dorsey Mishler.
Memorial services were held Monday, October 8, at Shore Mennonite Church in Shipshewana with Pastor Carl Horner officiating.
Burial is in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
