Ernest D. Miller, 79, Topeka, died Monday, August 27, 2012 at his residence.
He was born September 20, 1932, in LaGrange County, to Monroe J. and Katie (Yoder) Miller.
He was a farmer and worked for 35 years at the Topeka Livestock Auction. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He was married February 26, 1953, in Topeka, to Orpha Hostetler. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Karen (Wilbur) Yoder, West Cliff, Colo., Loretta (Jacob) Jones, Shipshewana, and Mary Alice (Harley) Yoder, Topeka; one son, Nelson (Wilma) Miller, Topeka; 27 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lou Ella (Mahlon Jr.) Cross, Topeka; a sister-in-law, Ella Miller, Topeka; and a brother-in-law, Ezra Gingerich, Shipshewana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, Harold and Willard Miller, and two sisters, Mary Ellen Gingerich and Freeda Miller.
Services were held Thursday, August 30, at the family residence, 5355S 500W in Topeka, with Bishop Harvey Lambright and home ministers officiating.
Burial is in Miller Cemetery, LaGrange.
