Endure the cold months with a warm heart

 

Center for Hospice Care needs volunteers in Kosciusko, Elkhart, and LaGrange counties. The next Volunteer Training (15 total hours) is in February.

No previous health care experience is necessary. What is your passion? Volunteers are needed for:

·        Patient care

·        Companionship

·        Bereavement callers

·        Office support

·        Massage therapists

·        Veteran to Veteran

·        Hair stylists

·        Barbers

·        Pet visitation

Training focuses on the hospice philosophy, communication skills, spirituality, family dynamics, patient care, and bereavement. Following training, volunteers may assist patients and families with respite, transportation, laundry, errands, companionship, or bereavement. Volunteers will serve patients in their homes, in nursing homes, or may serve in office or clerical roles. In addition, individuals with licensure/certification in massage therapy, hair styling, pet visitation, or notary public are also needed. Scheduling for volunteers is flexible.

Training dates are Feb. 11, 13, 19, 21, and 26 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Center for Hospice Care, 22579 Old US 20 East in Elkhart.
