LaGrange County Emergency Management and the LaGrange County unit of the American Red Cross will host an information session on emergency response and emergency preparedness in LaGrange County.
The seminar will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, in the Westview High School Auditorium.
Speakers will discuss:
· How to organize a Community Organizations Assisting in Disasters (COAD) in the county.
How to become part of the Indiana initiative – Commuity Emergency Response Team (CERT)
How to understand information about emergency watches and warnings and the appropriate responses to each.
How to engage in training to become a knowledgeable volunteer.
Speakers will include Noble Co. Emergency Manager Newtown, LaGrange County Emergency Manager Stewart Bender, LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department Communications Director Arron Knisley, and American Red Cross Disaster Program Manager Kimberly Stout.
The seminar is free and open to all area residents. Business owners, managers and employees, organization leaders and volunteers, students and retirees, and all with a passion to be able to help themselves and others in a time of need are urged to attend.
