Ella E. Nisley, 78, of Goshen, died on Saturday, September 8, at her daughter’s home. She had been battling leukemia for the past eight years.
She was born on July 14, 1934 in Middlebury to Ezra and Susie (Lehman) Bontrager.
On September 12, 1957 she married Melvin J. Nisley, he survives.
Survivors in addition to her husband are two daughters, Betty (Jonnie) Yoder of Bonduel, WI, Kathryn (David) Miller of Goshen; two sons, Willard (Judy) Nisley of Bagley, MN, Ernest Lee (Cindy) Nisley of Kendallville; 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; three brothers, Levi (Ada) Bontrager of Shipshewana, Andrew (Edna) Bontrager of Topeka, Samuel (Ada) Bontrager of Middlebury; sister-in-law, Esther Bontrager of Lagrange, brother-in-law, Wilbur (Esther) Bontrager of Middlebury. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Amelia Yoder and Lizzie Mae Bontrager; four brothers, Harley, Daniel, Joseph and Monroe Bontrager.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
Visitation will after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday September 9 all day Monday, September 10 at the family’s residence, 14812 CR 34 Goshen.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday also at the family’s residence. Services will be conducted by Bishop Simon Schmucker and the home ministers. Burial will be in Nisley Cemetery, Goshen.
