Elcie Gayheart, 85, LaGrange, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
She was born December 19, 1926, in McDowell, Ky., to William and Mattie (Moore) Blankenship.
She was a homemaker all of her life and attended the Church of God in South Milford.
She was married in 1947 in McDowell, Ky., to General Gayheart. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Hassel and Kathy Gayheart, Mongo, Ernest and Jane Gayheart, LaGrange, and Delmer and Linda Gayheart, White Pigeon, Mich.; two daughters and one son-in-law, Ethel and Dewayne Johnson, LaGrange, and Bethel Levitz, Howe; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Levi Blankenship, Kentucky, and Eddie and Nevelene Blankenship, Wolcottville; and one sister and brother-in-law, Tinia and Floyd Bolton, Wolcottville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Bessie Gayheart, two grandsons, Donny and Steven Johnson, five sisters, Maxie, Delphi, Ellie, Allie and Annie, and four brothers, Henry, Mitch, Condy and Feddie Blankenship.
Services were held Saturday, August 4, at Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange with Pastor Dewayne Johnson officiating.
Burial is in Ontario Cemetery, Howe.
