Edwin Eugene “Gene” Troyer, 88, Oliver Lake in Wolcottville, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Ind.
He was born November 20, 1925, in Midland, Mich., to Edward D. and Anna Mae (Bontrager) Troyer.
Moving from the Ft. Wayne area to Oliver Lake in 1985, he worked at International Harvester for 22 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Three Rivers Masonic Lodge #733 F&AM.
He was married February 5, 1955, in Ft. Wayne, Ind., to Shirley J. Bergman. She preceded him in death on October 19, 1999.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Greg Chrisman, Edon, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Kathi Troyer, Grange; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters and one brother-in-law, Myrtle Bontrager, Elkhart, Ind., Fannie Yoder, Hicksville, Ohio, Edna Lengacher, Woodburn, Ind., and Ann and Clarence Miller, Leo, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Terry Troyer, and two brothers, Cornelius “Corn” Troyer and Floyd “Bud” Troyer.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Private family service will be held.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society in memory of his wife Shirley and his son Terry.
