Driver inattention contributes to accident

Driver inattention was a factor in an accident that occurred on July 10.

According to the police report, Marvin Langston, 74, of Huntington, Ind., was traveling south on SR 5 north of CR 700S. He started watching a buggy that was on the side of the road and when he looked back where he was going, he was unable to avoid hitting a vehicle driven by Dakota Charters, 21, of Topeka that was stopped to make a left turn.

Dakota Charters and a passenger in her vehicle, Chyenne Charters, 17, complained of neck pain at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
