The driver of a pickup truck that ended up in a Shipshewana gas station last week blacked out, according to the Shipshewana Police Department report.
The department report noted that the driver, Monty Glick, 55, of LaGrange said that when he pulled into the Phillips 66 station on South Van Buren Street, he blacked out and woke up after his truck crashed into the building.
A witness told officers that he had seen the pickup truck pull into the gas station and approach the gas pumps. When the witness looked again, the truck was inside the building.
The store attendant told officers that she saw the truck continue past the pumps and into the building.
The truck sustained severe damage to the front end. The front wall and shelving were damaged inside the store.
Glick was checked by medics at the scene and released. The attendant was transported by medics for further examination. The report noted that the attendant did not sustain any injuries as a direct result of the accident.
