Driver arrested for possession of marijuana

On April 29, a deputy from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department observed a Ford Explorer traveling north on CR 225E approaching SR 120. The vehicle was pulling a boat trailer that did not have working taillights. According to the police report, the deputy detected a burnt marijuana odor coming from the vehicle during the traffic stop.

The driver, Richard F. Worley, 53, of Three Rivers, Mich., gave the officer consent to search the vehicle, during which a clear glass jar containing a green plant-like substance believed to be marijuana was located in the middle console. Also found in the middle console was a small glass smoking device.

Worley was taken into custody and transported to the LaGrange County Jail, where he was booked on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and maintaining a common nuisance.
