Dora Owsley

 

Dora M. Owsley, 84, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at her residence. 

    She was born on December 15, 1927 in Kentucky to parents Mexico and Della Pitts. 

    She married Homer Owsley and was a long-time resident of Ohio before moving to Indiana in 1968. She worked at Marks Nursing Home, Starcraft, and for other area employers before retiring in the early 1980s. 

    Surviving are seven daughters, Evelyn Hale, Kathy Hicks, and Karen Ruswinkle, all of LaGrange, Rose Conley, Wolcottville, Laura Bostick, and Louetta Grandstaff, both of Rome City, and Sallie Franklin, Howe; one son, Rodger Owsley, LaGrange; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; three stepchildren, Nathan Owsley and Claude Owsley, both of Ohio, and Alma Faye Gibson, Kendallville; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, all 12 siblings, two stepsons, Robert and Ray Owsley, one stepdaughter, Emma Bradley, and long-time friend and partner Willard Jones, LaGrange. 

    Viewing was held Wednesday July 18. 

    Burial is in Pitts Family Cemetery, Bayard, Ohio.
