Donald A. Wilsey, 77, Westler Lake in Wolcottville, died Friday, November 30, 2012 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
He was born July 14, 1935, in Strickland, Wisc., to Lester A. and Caroline M. (Sawatzky) Wilsey.
Moving from Minnesota to Fort Wayne in 1969, he lived at Westler Lake since 1975. He retired after 36 years as regional sales manager for Indianhead Truck Line. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a life member of Rome City American Legion Post 381, where he was the coordinator for the honor guard and served as an officer for many years. He was also a life member of the Kendallville VFW Post 2749.
He was married October 18, 1969, in Ft. Wayne, to Sharon J. Funk. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia Wilsey, Minneapolis, Minn., and Bobette Wilsey, Litchfield, Minn.; two granddaughters; one brother, Roland D. Wilsey, Roseville, Minn.; and one sister, Lois Murch, Little Canada, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Dawn Boggs, and one brother, Lester A. Wilsey Jr.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Friday, December 7, at Young Family Funeral Home Wolcottville Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 8, at St. Gaspar Catholic Church in Rome City with Father Bernard Ramenaden officiating.
Burial with honor guard services by Rome City American Legion Post 381 and Kendallville VFW Post 2749 will be in St. Gaspar Catholic Cemetery.
