Donald E. Dilts, 79, LaGrange, died Saturday September 15, 2012 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne.
He was born September 24, 1932, in Steuben County, Ind., to Clarence L. and Thelma M. (Coney) Dilts.
He retired from Ross Laboratory in Sturgis, Mich., after 26 years. He was also a famer in Howe for 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of LaGrange American Legion Post 215.
He was married November 7, 1952, in Wolcottville, to Mary Jane Young. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Denise Dilts, LaGrange, and Debra and Mark Ulrich, LaGrange; one grandson, Kyle Ulrich, LaGrange; one sister, Barbara Randall, LaGrange; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Dilts, Pleasant Lake, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and Schuyler Dilts.
Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 19, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Carldean Merrifield officiating.
Burial with military rites by LaGrange American Legion Post 215 will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
Memorials may be directed to Ark Animal Shelter or the Lakeland Athletic Department c/o the basketball and tennis programs.
