Donald DePue

Donald W. DePue, 91, Goshen, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 at his residence.

    He was born October 17, 1925, in Howe, to Arlis and Elsie (Dague) DePue.

    He was a 1943 graduate of Brighton High School and farmed for 64 years, retiring at age 83. He was the first farmer in Indiana to raise Charolais cattle and was an early user of irrigation. He was a member of West Goshen Church of the Brethren and a long-time member of English Prairie Church of the Brethren.

    He was married January 25, 1948, in the Methodist Church in Shipshewana, to Marilyn Bender. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2014.

    Surviving are two children, Judith Liebespach, Valrico, Fla., and Stephen (Judy) DePue, Goshen, Ind.; three grandchildren, Monique (James) Arritt, Vanessa DePue and Elizabeth (Corey) Hyers; and four great-grandchildren.

    He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Merlin and Claude DePue.

    Funeral service was held Monday, December 19, at West Goshen Church of the Brethren with Pastor Norm Replogle officiating.

    Burial is in Shore Cemetery, Shipshewana.
