Don Davenport Jr.

Don “Clifford” Davenport Jr., 76, LaGrange, died Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at his residence.

    He was born June 6, 1938, in Angola, Ind., to Don C. Sr. and Josephine (Hart) Davenport.

    Moving from Angola to LaGrange in 1978, he owned and operated D&M Printing in LaGrange for 25 years. He was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders, serving as the area representative for many years. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of LaGrange American Legion Post 215.

    He was married April 15, 1978, in Coldwater, Mich., to Melody A. Budd. She survives.

    Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Chassidy and Dean Slater, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; one son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Dawn Davenport, Angola, Ind.; and three grandchildren, Jordan, Dakota and Michael.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Fredericka “Ricky” Davenport, and two brothers, Larry and Ernie Davenport.

    Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, October 9, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.

    Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 10, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Tamra Gerber officiating.

    Burial with military rites by LaGrange American Legion Post 215 will be in Circle Cemetery, Hudson, Ind.
