Dixie L. Scalzo, 71, Orland, died Friday, October 12, 2012 at Cameron Memorial Community Hospital in Angola.
She was born May 21, 1941 in Kendallville, to Hollie and Helen (Miller) Strater.
She worked at various jobs in the manufacturing industry. She was a former member of Mongo United Methodist Church, Mongo Community Development Board, and the Democratic Party.
Surviving are her mother, Helen Hill, Rome City; two sons, Buck and Dana Scalzo, Mongo, and Joe and Terri Scalzo, Angola; two daughters, Debbie Scalzo, Trego, Wisc., and Tammy Scalzo, Orland; four grandchildren, Stacey and Jason Adkins, Elkhart, Timothy and Nicole Scalzo, Mongo, Steven Kemper, Angola, and Shelby Kemper, Angola; two great-grandchildren, Landen Scalzo, Mongo, and Donnie Adkins, Elkhart; one sister, Peggy and Charles Busch, Spooner, Wisc.; and her best buddy, Sandy Whittig and family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Hollie Strater, and one son, Tony Scalzo.
Visitation is 10-11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at Mongo United Methodist Church.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 20, at Mongo United Methodist Church with Pastor James Bartlett officiating.
Burial will be in Mongo Cemetery, Mongo.
