Delmer Sutton

 

Delmer Clayton Sutton, 69, South Milford, died Thursday, April 12, 2012, at his residence.

    He was born May 28, 1942, in Hindman, Ky., to Joe and Ella Mae (Perkins) Sutton.

    Living in the area since the age of three, he operated the Texaco gas station and owned and operated a used car lot, both in South Milford. He retired from Dalton Foundry in Kendallville and was a member of Hudson United Brethren Church.

    He was married March 23, 1964, in South Milford, to Bonnie J. Price.  She survives.

    Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy L. and Richard Henschen, Wolcottville; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Jeffrey C. Sutton, Kendallville, Troy and Dawn Sutton, South Milford, and Ronnie L. Sutton, South Milford; five grandchildren, Phyllis Burkhead, Kendallville, Sarah Shepherd, Auburn, Destynie Bellinger, South Milford, Dillon Henschen, Wolcottville, and Breanda Sutton, Kendallville; and three great-grandchildren, Crystal Burkhead, Johnathon Muzzillo, and Nicholas Niman.

    He was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Owens and Geneva Fink, and one brother, Elmer Sutton.

    Services were held Monday, April 16, at Young Family Funeral Home Kendallville Chapel with Pastor Craig Burkholder and Pastor Lee Combs officiating. 

    Burial is in South Milford Cemetery.
