DeKalb boys upend Lakeland

DeKalb rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat Lakeland, 53-42 in varsity boys basketball Tuesday night in LaGrange.

The host Lakers roared to a 16-7 lead after one quarter and still led, 24-21 when the teams broke for the intermission. DeKalb used an 18-10 spurt in the third period to seize the advantage, then closed out the tilt on a 14-8 run.

Adison Daub and Austin Macy spearheaded the Baron attack with 19 and 18 points, respectively. Cole Hartman was the third DeKalb player in double figures, as he netted 10 markers.

Spencer Mortola canned a trio of three-point shots on his way to a team-high 16 tallies for the Lakers. Chandler Mynhier chipped in 10 points.

Lakeland takes a 6-14 record into its regular-season finale this Friday at Angola.
