David H. Stewart, 71, Mt. Dora, Fla., died Thursday, November 10, 2011 in Mt. Dora, Fla., from injuries sustained in a pedestrian/truck accident.
He was born August 28, 1940, in Sturgis, Mich., to Roy Eugene Sr. and Hyacinth Lillian (Strayer) Stewart.
Moving from LaGrange County to Florida in 1968, he was a self-employed electrician. He was a 1958 graduate of Wolcottville High School.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Deanna L. and Greg Flynn, Naples, Fla.; four sons and two daughters-in-law, David W. Stewart, Gotha, Fla., Dennis W. and Teresa Stewart, Avilla, Ind., Donald A. Stewart, Kissimmee, Fla., and Douglas A. and Kellie Stewart, Kendallville; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nina Presdorf, LaGrange, Betty Merriman Cockrum, Indianapolis, and Moynetta Anderson, Culver, Ind.; and one brother, Paul R. Fuller, Schaumburg, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Hyacinth L. and Moyne W. Fuller, his father, Roy E. Stewart Sr., one son, Xavier Stewart, one grandson, Matthew Hausbach, one sister, Patricia Fuller, and two brothers, Roy E. “Butch” Stewart Jr. and Lorrell Fuller.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, November 19, at Park Ridge Baptist Church in Gotha, Fla., with Reverend Ron Masters officiating.
Private family burial will be held at a later date.
