David A. Schrock, 93, Middlebury, died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at The Maples at Waterford Crossing.
He was born December 27, 1920, in Shipshewana, to Andrew and Anna (Yoder) Schrock.
He started his own excavating business in 1964 and operated it with his sons for 43 years. He was a member of Griner Mennonite Church.
He was married January 27, 1944, in Goshen, to Anna Ruth Bontrager. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2000. He was married November 10, 2001, in Middlebury, to Viola (Schrock) Lambright. She survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Judy (Darold) Beachy, Mount Gilead, Ohio, Velma (Sheldon) Swartz, Goshen, Carolyn Schrock-Shenk, Goshen, and Shirley (Jim) Troyer, Goshen; one son, Stephen C. Schrock, Middlebury; two daughters-in-law, Rhonda Schrock and Norma Schrock, both of Middlebury; one stepdaughter, LaVerta Borntrager; three stepsons, Mervin, Vernon and Gerald Lambright; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lydia Borntrager, Goshen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Clifford and Larry Schrock, one great-grandson, Michael Beachy, three sisters, Polly Schrock, Amanda Yoder and Sarah Bontrager, and four brothers, Samuel, William, Edward and Andrew Schrock.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday August 22, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, 1003 South Main Street Middlebury. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the 10:00 am funeral service on Saturday, August 23, at Griner Mennonite Church, Middlebury. Services will be conducted by Pastors DeWayne Yoder and Harley Troyer. Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen. Memorials may be given to Rosedale Mennonite Missions.
