Daniel P. Isenhart, 65, passed away on Saturday, May 17th after battling lung cancer. He was born in Muncie, IN the son of Fred and Catherine (Pomeroy) Isenhart. He attended elementary school at St. Lawrence and graduated high school at Muncie South Side in 1966.
He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era and was stationed in Germany for his tour of duty. Upon returning home to Muncie, he worked at variety of local companies including Marhoefer Packing. From there he moved to Wolcottville, IN and became part owner and manager of Bill and Casey’s Landing which became Coody Brown’s in 1983. He managed and grew that business from a combination of bait/grocery store plus a restaurant to the popular bar and restaurant that still bears the name. He sold the business in the late 1990s and moved to Milwaukee, WI where he continued to tend bar and help catering businesses while pursuing a career as a professional bass tournament angler. He fished partner tournaments locally with his wife, Kimberly Kline, and competed nationally in a variety of bass tournament circuits as a professional. In 2004, Dan and Kim relocated to Fairview, TN in the Nashville area where he continued to compete in bass tournaments.
Dan was a loving husband, son and a marvelous father. He is also remembered fondly by a myriad of those who crossed his path along the way. He gave many young people their first employment opportunity and was an honest, caring and fun loving friend to people all across the nation.
He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Kline. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Fred E. Isenhart and Catherine L. Isenhart, and his beloved daughter, Amanda Jean Isenhart.
Honoring his request, there will not be any funeral services held. Dan’s wish is for his remains to be scattered over Dallas Lake in Wolcottville, IN and plans for that will be finalized at a later date.
