Daniel L. Arnold, 70, rural Kendallville, died Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Provena Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, Ind.
He was born July 4, 1944, in Garrett, to Kenneth and Dolores (Stonestreet) Arnold.
He was a 1962 graduate of Avilla High School and obtained a Master's degree from the University of Saint Francis in Ft. Wayne. He retired from the East Noble School Corporation after many years as a middle school special education teacher.
He was married March 21, 2011, in Albion, Ind., to Lisa M. Hess. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Nathan Arnold, San Francisco, Calif.; one daughter, Emily Arnold, Knoxville, Tenn.; one stepson, Jacob Hines, Ft. Wayne, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Megan Hines and Katie Hines, both of Kendallville, Ind.; one brother, Mont (Constance) Arnold, LaGrange; three sisters, Lola Rogers, North Patomic, Md., Sarah Arnold and her husband Roberta Gambi, Lahuple, Belgium, and Celeste (James) Niles, Burlington, N.J.; two stepbrothers-in-law, Thomas Hess Jr. and Matthew Hess, both of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; his mother-in-law, Barbara Bontempo, Ft. Wayne, Ind. and his father-in-law, Thomas Hess, Grabill.
Funeral service was held Thursday, August 28, Brazzell Funeral Home Avilla Chapel.
Burial is in Avilla Cemetery.
