Dallas Ritchie, 75, died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1939, in Tribby, Ky., to Cleveland and Beulah Ritchie.
Raised by his stepfather, Herman Campbell, like his own after his father died when Dallas was two years old, he was a U.S. Army veteran and was an electrician in the RV industry until he retired. After retirement, he moved to Kentucky and worked his own vendor booth at the local flea market. He also raised and sold hunting dogs and horses.
He was married June 4, 1958, in Fisty, Ky., to Maulta Jones. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Tom L. (Lorrie) Ritchie, Wolcottville, Larry E. Ritchie, Kendallville, Ind., and Wendell Ritchie, LaGrange; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Anita) Campbell, Butler, Ind.; four sisters, Avanell Smith, Wolcottville, Bessie (Estill Jr.) Perkins, Carrie, Ky., Kathleen (Allan) Curtis, Fisty, Ky., and Dorothy (R.B.) Amburgey, Angola, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, his stepfather, and one brother, William Campbell.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, at Carney-Frost Funeral Home in LaGrange.
Burial with military rites by LaGrange American Legion Post 215 will be in Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange.
