Cunninghham leads lakeland soccer past Hamilton


Dustin Cunningham scored three goals and assisted on another in leading Lakeland to a 9-1 varsity boys soccer triumph at Hamilton Tuesday night.

All three of Cunningham’s tallies came in the first half as the Lakers opened up a 7-1 lead. Sammy Garcia also knocked in a pair of goals prior to the intermission, while Dylan Gust and Nick Byler netted one apiece.

Luis Gutierrez, who started as the Laker keeper and made one save in the first half, put in one of Lakeland’s goals in the second half. The other was kicked in by Luke Long.

Byler collected two of the six Laker assists. Cunningham, Garcia, Gust, Alfredo Nieves and Alex Hunter all had one.

Skyler Booth made two saves as the Laker keeper in the second half.
