Cub Connection a success in Topeka

Nearly 250 people attended Topeka Elementary School’s second annual Cub Connection on March 26. Parents attended presentations by teachers and visited information tables from community services and agencies.

The purpose of the evening was to extend communication between community, school and families. Each Topeka Elementary student received a free book, families received a free game and refreshments, and door prizes were given away throughout the evening.

The Westview NJHS (National Junior Honor’s Society) provided free child care and activities for age 3 through 4th grade.

A good portion of the evening was funded through a grant awarded by L.I.F.E. (LaGrange Independent Foundation for Endowments), a philanthropic youth group supported by the LaGrange County Community Foundation.

Topeka staff is in the process of planning Cub Connection for next year. Agencies interested in participating should contact Topeka Elementary Principal Becky Siegel at 260-593-2897.
