County to save on phone service

Information Technology Director Robert Murphy told a joint meeting of council and commissioners Monday morning that the Indigital system now installed at the county communications center will save taxpayers an estimated $2,271.50 each month.

The savings have been brought about by the new equipment recently installed which will require different service from CenturyLink. Murphy noted there will be a one-time charge of $800 to make the change, which is slated for March 13.

Current telephone charges of $4,227 a month will drop to $1,955.50 a month once the changeover has been made.
