LaGrange County Planning Administrator Bob Shanahan reported to the LaGrange County Plan Commission that the department saw an increase in 2011 filing fees and zoning certificates over 2010.
Overall, the department took in $59,618 in filing fees and zoning certificates. In 2010, the department collected $48,615.15.
Zoning certificates in 2011 accounted for $20,010 of that total and variance filing fees totaled $15,960. Red tag fines were $3,300 for the year.
Other fees were: Signs, $1,170; site plans, $5,300; land use variances, $7,200; subdivisions, $4,200; conditional uses, $900; vacated plats, $200; rezones, $1,200, WECS, $150; and miscellaneous fees, $28.
The department also reported an increase in nuisance complaints over 2010. County Code Enforcement Officer Jason Boggs reported a total of 475 cases throughout the county, including the four incorporated towns.
Nuisance complaints for 2010 totaled 394. There were 414 in 2009.
Vehicles tagged and grass complaints topped the list of issues reported.
