With school finally adjourning for the summer next month, affordable instruction in a lifelong game will be
provided at two county golf courses each morning during the week of June 16-19. Sponsored by several youth-serving organizations, the LaGrange County Fore-H Junior Golf Clinic will be conducted for students entering grades 3-12 at both Cedar Lake and Heron Creek golf courses.
The program is being coordinated by the Purdue University Extension Service. The LaGrange County Community Foundation, REMC Operation Round Up and LaGrange County 4-H are supporting sponsors.
There is a cost for the four-day, six-hour program for youth not currently enrolled in the LaGrange County 4-H program. While free to 4-H members, registration for the junior golf program will also provide an optional 4-H membership for those who choose to enroll.
To encourage family involvement with the game of golf, participants will also receive a coupon entitling participants to free golf at either course every Friday through August 29 when accompanied by a playing adult.
Due to space and safety limitations, enrollment will be reserved for the first 60 youth signing up at each course or June 6, whichever comes first.
Registration forms will be available in next week’s edition of the LaGrange Standard, and can also be obtained by contacting Purdue Extension at www.extension.purdue.edu/lagrange or call 499-6334.
