County council approves CR 200N study

Members of the LaGrange County Council approved $1,900 to partially fund an engineering study to determine the cost of making a major improvement to CR 200N from the east side of the proposed MEC location and CR 675W. The stretch of road covers about ¾ of a mile.

The road (CR 200N) will be improved in front of the MEC property by the developers of the project and the west portion of the road to SR 5 will most likely be improved by the Town of Shipshewana. Costs for those portions of the roadway have already been determined.

The $1,900 will be for ½ of the engineering costs, the other ½ will be funded by developers of the MEC.

The engineering study will be performed by DLZ Engineering. The request for funding was presented by LaGrange County Economic Development President Ryne Krock.
