County to buy layering software

County commissioners approved the purchase of software along with support and training for the GIS department at Monday’s meeting. Cost of the project will be some $11,250.

GIS Director Rita Lehner noted that the cost is down significantly from the $67,000 bid of an outside vendor last year. “We were confident we could do the job ourselves for much less,” she stated.
