The removal of logjams along the Pigeon River will continue as the LaGrange County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) and LaGrange County are pledging matching funds for a Lakes and River Enhancement grant.
The SWCD had already pledged $1,000 toward the 10 percent match of the estimated $22,000 cost of the ongoing project.
The LaGrange County Commissioners voted to pledge $1,200 to meet the remaining amount needed for the match.
Last year, the project removed around 40 logjams along the river at a cost of around $1,100 per jam.
Another 13 log jams have been identified, with an additional seven to 12 expected to occur over the winter, leaving around 20 jams for removal.
