County 4-H dog club places at state show

The LaGrange County 4-H Dog Club attended the show at the Indiana State Fair, with the largest attendance for an area club. Members placed in the top 20 in several classes.

With the classes ranging from 80 to 140 dogs in a class, the club leaders felt that their success level was beyond expectations.

In obedience,  Jake Miller with his pitbull Samson placed 6th and Hanna Klein with her golden retriever Emma placed 11th in Class 1A. In Class 1B, Kelsey Younce with her golden retriever Cedar placed 14th, and in Class 3A, Chanden Lawson with his yellow lab Bo placed 19th.

In agility, Sami Scigouski with her poodle Kipper placed 4th, Hanna Klein placed 17th, and Jake Miller placed 20th in the Beginners class.

The club also ran an Education Station and participated in a “on hands” demonstration of introducing dogs to the public during their visit at the fair.
