The 2013 Corn School Produce Tent entry offices will be open from noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, and Wednesday, Oct. 2, and from 8-11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, to accept entries to be judged.
There will be two divisions: adult and junior (age 16 and under). Exhibit classes are open to LaGrange County residents only.
All exhibits must be grown in the exhibitor’s own garden (except roadside).
All exhibits must be entered before 11 a.m. on Thursday. Late entries will be exhibited, but not judged. Accessories may be added to arrangements. All containers and accessories are entered at the owner’s risk.
Judge is not required to give blue ribbon when there is only one entry.
There must be three or more entries in a category to win Grand Champion.
One person cannot win Grand Champion more than two years in a row. The judge’s decision is final.
Corn School exhibits will remain until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Flower Show - 1. Single Blooming Stalk; 2. Multiple Blooming Stalk; 3. Three Blooms (for example: zinnias, marigolds, asters); 4. Bouquets With Own Foliage; 5. Mixed Garden Flower Arrangement; 6. Artistic Flower Arrangement - Dining Room Table; Buffet; Mantel; Coffee Table; Old Fashioned Container; Hall Table; Kitchen Utensil; Candles and Flowers; Monotones (same color vase and flowers); Cup and Saucer; Driftwood; Roadside; Shells and Flowers; Dried Flowers; 7. Houseplants; 8. Special Feature Four Seasons (no artificial flowers) – Spring; Summer; Fall; Winter.
Farm Exhibits– 1. Corn: Best 10 Ears Grown in 2011 - Single Cross Hybrid; Double Cross Hybrid; Triple Cross Hybrid; Open Pollinated; 2. Field Corn - Other Than Yellow; 3. Popcorn; 4. Indian Corn and Ornamental; 5. Largest Single Ear; 6. Tallest Stalk of Corn; 7. Broadest Sunflower; 8. Tallest Sunflower; 9. Fruit (plate of 5, only 1 large fruit such as watermelon and muskmelon); 10. Grain (all to be labeled as to variety in 1-gallon jar); 11. Vegetables (plate of 5, tops off); 12. Heaviest Squash (includes Pumpkin); 13. Nuts (plate of 5); 14. Fruit or Vegetable Oddity.
Group Exhibits in Booth –Exhibit to consist of products of the farm and garden: grains, threshed or in straw, vegetables, fruits, canned goods, pastry and flower. Exhibit must follow the theme of current year Corn School. Exhibit to be made by any club, organization or individual and occupying a space 5’x5’. Exhibits will be judged on quality, number of varieties, arrangement and educational value.
If five or more displays are made, premiums will be: First Prize - $50; Second Prize - $40; Third Prize - $30; Fourth Prize - $20; Fifth Prize - $10. If there are less than five displays, $30 will be given for each.
Garden Display - Collection of vegetables grown by exhibitor and is limited to eight varieties.
