Concord boys down Westview

Filip Serwatka poured in a game-high 29 points to power Concord past Westview, 64-50 last Friday night in Dunlap.

Serwatka, who recently went over 1000 points for his career, netted 12 of his markers in the fourth quarter, helping the Minutemen put on a 23-15 finishing kick.

Brandon Emerick followed Serwatka on the Concord scoresheet with 15 points, all of them coming on five, three-point shots in the first half.

The Warrior loss dulled an otherwise sparkling performance by junior Andrew Yoder, who knocked down a career-high 27 points. The 6-2 guard went 11-16 from the field, including a 5-8 effort from three-point land.

Senior Chandler Aspy was “held” to 18 points by the Concord defense. The 6-3 forward came into the game averaging over 24 points a contest. Aspy did grab a team-best seven rebounds.

Westview enters the 2A sectional tournament with a 10-12 overall record.
