The LaGrange County Community Foundation (LCCF) Board of Directors recently approved four grants recommended by the LIFE youth philanthropy group. The grants totaled $4,968.
LIFE is composed of 20 volunteer students in grades 8-12, along with volunteer adult mentors or "guides" from each of LaGrange County's four public and private schools. An adult "navigator" from the LCCF staff coordinates the activities of the group. Additional LCCF staff and members of the board of directors provide guidance and technical support. LIFE activities are generously supported through a grant by the Dekko Foundation.
Grantees of this most recent LIFE grant cycle included Mongo Community Development for its summer park programming, Mad Anthony's Children Hope House to support its housing efforts for LaGrange County families with children hospitalized in Ft. Wayne, LaGrange Community Youth Centers in support of its Summer Day Camp Enrichment Program, and Prairie Heights School Corporation in support of its participation in this year's Finance Park field trip for middle school students.
