Members of the LaGrange County Community Foundation (LCCF) Board of Directors and staff met on April 27 in the LaGrange County Public Library Community Room for a special educational board retreat facilitated by Helen Monroe.
At the retreat, participants worked together to develop new strategies for expanding the role of the LCCF for the benefit of LaGrange County and the region. The facilitator is presently a principal in the Endowment Development Institute in California.
For 10 years, she was executive director of the San Diego Community Foundation and for over 20 years, through her work with the Lilly Endowment GIFT program, has been the acknowledged founding voice in driving the development of community foundations in Indiana.
The success of that effort may be measured by the fact that Indiana has more community foundations than any other state in the country.
