The LaGrange County Community Foundation (LCCF) has declared the month of March 2012 to be “Shipshewana Ministerial Association Month.” The churches of the Shipshewana Ministerial Association work together to provide emergency financial support to local families facing an immediate crisis with fuel and energy expenses.
LCCF has announced that any gift amount from any source made to the LCCF Good Samaritan Fund (unless specifically designated otherwise by the donor) will be set aside for a matching proactive grant to the Shipshewana effort. LCCF pledges to match gifts to this fund during March up to a total of $2,000 – double the amount of last year’s pledge.
In other words, from March 1 through March 31, 2012, if the Good Samaritan Fund receives $1,600 in eligible donations, LCCF will match that amount dollar-for-dollar and grant the ministerial association a total of $3,200.
In another example, if the Good Samaritan Fund receives $3,600 in eligible donations, this clearly exceeds the maximum $2,000 match amount and LCCF will grant the full pledged match amount of $2,000 in addition to the full donation amount. The ministerial association will receive a grant of $5,600.
No administrative fees will be taken from any donations to the fund during this effort. It is anticipated that the final award for this grant will be issued to the ministerial association in April.
Checks to the LaGrange County Community Foundation during this time frame must specify “Good Samaritan Fund” on the memo line. Mail donations to: LaGrange County Community Foundation, 109 E. Central, Suite No. 3, LaGrange, IN 46761.
