County commissioners approved a community corrections grant request for funding from the State of Indiana at Monday’s meeting. The grant request will be made in conjunction with Steuben County and people from Steuben will administer the local corrections program.
One of the qualifiers in the proposed service agreement provides that LaGrange County will continue to operate a work release program at the local jail.
Commissioners also approved a new three-year Community Benefit Agreement with Parkview – LaGrange Hospital. This agreement will operate in conjunction with a personal services agreement whereby Parkview will provide doctor service to the jail.
Commissioners also agreed to help with the 2014 Veterans’ Headstone project with $1200. Money for this will come from the Riverboat Gambling fund.
