Favorite Christmas tunes will fill the air Friday and Saturday, Dec. 2 and 3, as five renowned pianists and a celebrated vocalist take the stage of The Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana for the annual Christmas Piano Extravaganza.
Piano phenomenon Kim Collingsworth will lead the all-star cast of some of the best Southern Gospel-style pianists in the country, including Stan Whitmire, Tim Parton and the Hayes Sisters. They will be joined by vocalist TaRanda Greene, a Gaither Homecoming performer and a favorite guest of the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, and the Notre Dame Handbell Choir.

Whitmire brings to each performance a rich musical heritage spanning several generations and covering a variety of musical styles.
Parton is a self-taught piano player gifted with the ability to play the piano by ear. He was the pianist for Legacy Five for five years.
Janet Hayes-Haas, pianist and composer for the Hayes Family, is joined by her sister, Sharon Hayes-Hodges, who is both a vocalist and well-known pianist.
TaRanda Greene is often seen on the popular Bill Gaither Homecoming Video Series and has appeared on the Homecoming Tour. She has also become a favorite guest vocalist at the famed Brooklyn Tabernacle in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was invited by the church to be a special featured soloist on the latest two Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir recordings, “Declare Your Name” and “A Brooklyn Tabernacle Christmas.” She also appeared before the United Nations for a special Christmas concert, where she thrilled representatives from around the world with her rousing rendition of “O Holy Night.”
With five grand pianos gracing the stage, the event promises a memorable evening of holiday music, including specially written arrangements just for this weekend. Stirring solo pieces will weave together, featuring all five pianists to create a one-of-a-kind musical Christmas service.
