J. Farvers Christian Books and Gifts in Shipshewana will welcome author Donna Frisinger for a book signing and children’s storytime on Tuesday, June, 11. Storytimes forBink and Slinky’s Ark Adventure will be at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. with the book signing and an opportunity to meet the author from 2:15-4 p.m.

What can two of the least famous passengers of Noah’s Ark teach today’s kids? To answer that question, be sure to mark your calendars for the story time and book signing. Author Donna Frisinger, an award-winning poet and freelance writer, brings to life the vibrant, imaginative adventure of two groovy snails trying to reach Noah’s Ark before “The Great Falling” begins.

While there are other books written about Noah’s big boat and the worldwide flood, Bink and Slinky’s Ark Adventure stands alone in its perspective of this event as seen through the eyes of two of the smallest, slowest, and seemingly most insignificant of all God’s creatures. Like Abraham and Sarah in search of the Promise Land, Bink and Slinky slime up their sneakers to put their only foot forward in search of something they’ve never seen before.

“On top of the spectacularly colorful illustrations by Monica Gutierrez that will completely engage children, parents reading aloud can expect to giggle along with their kids at the sound of words like slithering scum, drop-dripped, and snicky-snack crunch,” according to Standard Publishing Editor Lindsay Black.

“Speaking as a writer and as a grandpa, this book is a pure delight,” adds fellow author and Taylor University Professor Dr. Dennis E. Hensley. “Donna’s trademark humor, her snappy rhymes and rhythm, and her ability to take ancient biblical stories and make them relevant to today’s youngsters combine to make this a marvelous reading experience.”

Donna Frisinger is an award-winning poet and freelancer. Since embarking on a writing career seven years ago, American Christian Writers (ACW) named her “Writer of the Year” in 2009, 2011 and 2012.
