Beth Sherman, president of the LaGrange County 4-H Club Association, announced at the Monday county commissioners meeting that a capital campaign is underway to raise funds for roof repair on the “long white building” at the fairgrounds.
“We don’t have any idea what the cost will be because we don’t know the extent of the damages,” she said. Sherman reported that during a work session Sunday evening it was discovered that a portion of the roof on the 60-year-old building is sagging and will require immediate repair.
A portion of the building will be divided off and not used for the 2013 LaGrange County 4-H Fair which starts Saturday. Some of the exhibits normally housed in the “white building” will be moved to the community room building.
