T&L Country Canoes, LLC will be donating a portion of their sales on Saturday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 1, to help those in the community suffering from muscular dystrophy. The business is located at 5775 W-A 750N in Shipshewana.
A nephew of owners Tim and Lori Mullins had a muscular disease and they want to do something to help others locally fight the battle against muscular dystrophy. They will donate $2 back to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) of Northern Indiana for every canoe and kayak trip under $25 sold and $5 back for every trip $25 or more. They will also have a raffle to win a free canoe or kayak trip along with MDA goodies.
Funds raised are critical to MDA’s provision of services to nearly 700 individuals living with neuromuscular disease in Northeast Indiana. MDA of Northeast Indiana provides a week-long summer camp at Camp Potawatomi for youngsters with muscular dystrophy in Northeast Indiana, the local MDA clinic at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne and Elkhart Clinic, repair and loan of durable medical equipment, support groups and seminars, and resources for medical research to continue MDA’s lifesaving mission for treatments and cures.
MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat more than 40 neuromuscular diseases through worldwide research, comprehensive medical and community services, and far-reaching professional and public health education.
